AfterHouse Recovery exists to provide structured, affordable sober living in the Des Moines metro. We saw a gap: men finishing treatment with nowhere real to go. Structured sober living that holds people to a standard while giving them the stability to rebuild.

That's what we built. Peer-run. Accountability-focused. Community-driven. The kind of place where the structure is the support.

Why This Exists

The gap between treatment and independent living is where most relapses happen.

Treatment ends. The clinical structure disappears. Most guys go home to the same environment that enabled the addiction — or they end up couch-surfing with no accountability and no community.

AfterHouse is the bridge. Structured enough to prevent drift. Affordable enough to be accessible. Peer-run enough to feel real. We're not a halfway house and we're not a hotel — we're a program that takes recovery seriously.

Shawn is the day-to-day operator of AfterHouse Recovery. He handles admissions, house management, and holds the standard for the program. His focus is on building a house where accountability isn't just policy — it's culture.
